How To Prepare For The Practical Driving Test
Preparing for your driving test is a mental game of will. You will have had the training and you are ready to take the test. However, it is the nerves that you are feeling that may mess up your chances.
If you are a person who is adversely affected by nerves then being told you can do it is simply not going to cut it. You must prepare yourself for the nerves so when they come you can keep them at bay.
To handle the nerves your best ally is your driving instructor. We have been there, understand the pressure and seen many students experience the same. We have had to pass many courses to get where we are today and so we know the stresses and strains that you are going through.
The important thing to remember is this. If your instructor didn't think you were ready then they wouldn't have recommended that you book your test. When we say that you are ready we mean that you can walk away from the test with your licence if you drive the way that you do in the lessons.
Remember that you have driven the exact traffic conditions that you will be driving on the day so you will be ready for them!
Take a seat and view the situation from another angle. We know that you have a lot of pressure riding on this. You will be able to go to the seaside if you pass. You'll be able to go on that road trip and you don't want to let anyone down.
Take the pressure off and relax. Part of the problem is that you are too close to it. Just go into the driving test as you would any other lesson. Focus on the task in hand and not what it will give you if you pass.
Get to know what the test will be about. Read all of the pieces of information you can about the test so when it comes to it there are no surprises and no fear of the unknown. You can and will pass if you relax. Don't think about the future and drive like we have taught you to drive.
